Midwood Design Studio (MDS) is a full-service design practice that delivers cohesive design solutions across Midwood’s national portfolio as well as select external projects. The studio oversees all phases of commercial and residential design from concept through execution and provides design consultation services for clients.

Led by Principal Shazia Shahid, MDS serves as Midwood’s in-house interior design team. Since joining the firm in 2010, Shahid has directed the design of many of Midwood’s most prominent developments, working in collaboration with world renowned architects and designers.

MDS has contributed to a range of notable developments, including The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Los Angeles, 150 East 78th Street in New York, The Williams in Brooklyn, and  210 S 12th Street in Philadelphia.

With over 25 years of experience, Shahid has worked on a range of high-profile projects. Prior to Midwood, she was an AVP at Related Companies, where she focused on ground-up luxury residential developments, and previously worked at Costas Kondylis on high profile projects such as the conversion of the iconic Plaza Hotel.
